REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial massage is a form of massage therapy that helps to relieve pain and promote healing of damaged tendons and muscles. It stimulates the blood supply, helping it to remove toxins from the muscles and thereby, bringing about healing.

Remedial Massage differs to Physiotherapy, as Remedial primarily focuses on soft tissue treatment to help restore normal function and alleviate pain. Whereas, Physiotherapy is a broad field that aims to improve movement, enhance quality of life through individualised treatment plans.

Benefits of Remedial Massage:

  • Increase flexibility

  • Reduce muscle spasms

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Relieve tight muscles

  • Reduce swelling

  • Maximise performance

Our physiotherapists at Strath Village Medical Centre offer different massage therapy, depending on the needs of the client or how shallow or deep the physiotherapist will apply. Most standard sessions are 30 minutes, which allows enough time for the physiotherapist to work to get rid of any trigger points and increase blood flow.
